Dr. Shogoro FUJIKI
CEO
Biome Inc.
Dr. Shogoro Fujiki earned his doctorate degree in agriculture from the University of Kyoto in March 2017. He developed visualizing technology for biodiversity using satellite imagery processing during his studies. Camping in the tropical rain forests of Borneo for more than two years inspired him to start an environmental conservation business. After earning his PhD, he established Biome Inc. as its CEO. The company’s business aims to collect information of living organisms worldwide into big data and strives for a society where conservation of biodiversity becomes the interests of the people. Dr. Fujiki is an expert advisory member of the Environment Ministry’s working group involved in modifying the Japan Conference for 2030 Global Biodiversity Framework (J-GBF), a council member of the Nature Conservation Society of Japan, and a domestic commissioner of ISO/TC331 (biodiversity). He was also selected as “Innovators Under 35 Japan 2021” by MIT Technology Review.
